چکیده
The Prix Pictet is a photography prize focussing on sustainability. Anthropocentric in its world-view, the was endorsed and supported by Kofi Annan, who until 2006 Secretary-General of United Nations. This article argues three points. Firstly, that Pictet’s model sustainability anthropocentric produces framework which myriad inequalities human relationships become representable. as symptom contradictions created through neoliberalism will be analysed, particularly celebrates commodification art whilst also enabling articulation concern about people environment. second argument, where seen symptomatic neoliberal economy both offers opportunities for artists to express social, economic environmental inequalities, ‘greenwashing’ sustainable investments. Thirdly, I argue that, photography’s ambiguity occasionally escapes framework, leading other possible interpretations. Pictet, then, mainly represents human-centric view, this reproduced at expense nature-human-technology frameworks. However, close readings some shortlisted projects see eco-centric posthuman sensibilities emerging.
